Each year, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awards millions of dollars in grants to eligible public and private schools to help enhance safety and security measures. Working with Symphony Advancement, a nationally recognized grant management firm that specializes in helping Catholic schools and churches secure federal grant funding, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School submitted an application for the 2025 grant cycle.
Following months of delays, FEMA announced the 2025 grant awards in August 2026. We are pleased to share that St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School has been awarded FEMA grant funding to enhance safety and security on our campus.
Over the coming months, we will work with Symphony Advancement to evaluate, select, and implement security improvements using these funds. Our goal is to identify solutions that best meet the unique needs of St. Thomas Aquinas, fulfill the requirements of the federally funded grant, and make a meaningful and lasting impact on the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, parishioners, and visitors.
Bidders Needed
As part of this important security initiative, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is now seeking qualified vendors to submit proposals for several security enhancement projects funded through the FEMA grant.
The RFP identifies the following projects requiring sealed bid proposals:
- CCTV or Surveillance Camera System
- Access Control
Additional security projects identified through the grant include:
- Intrusion Detection System (IDS)
- Protective Window Film or Coating
- Barriers, Bollards, and Fencing
- Alarm/Alert System
- Public Address and Intercom System
- Campus Lighting
- Emergency Preparedness Planning and Consulting
Sealed proposals will be accepted until 12:00 PM (noon), Central Time Wednesday, November 5th, 2026. At that time, all sealed proposals will be publicly opened.
